Crimson Moon Camera & Lock-On — PC

Camera and lock-on complaints are the single largest theme in our frozen sample of 20 recent negative reviews (8/20). This page exists as its own deep dive — not folded into Known Issues — because it clears a four-part evidence bar: four distinguishable symptom types, each with a verbatim quote and a recommendationid.

Four Distinct Symptoms

What players are actually reporting

One category header ("camera") can hide very different bugs. We split the 8 reports into four symptom types below so the theme doesn't collapse into a single vague complaint.

A. Clipping through geometry / blinded

"your camera will clip underground or into walls completely blinding you" (names Demon Brute)

recommendationid: 234267519 · Platform: not labeled — Steam's review API does not expose a platform field and the review text does not state one either

B. Lock-on loses control, worse on bosses

"The camera gets a life of its own the moment you focus on any enemy and gets worse on bosses." / "Unplayable due to camera flying all over the place."

recommendationid: 234268065 · 234267332 · Platform: not labeled — Steam's review API does not expose a platform field and the review text does not state one either

C. Lock-on hides the target instead of showing it

"Lock on will prevent you from seeing what you are targeting."

recommendationid: 234269011 · Platform: not labeled — Steam's review API does not expose a platform field and the review text does not state one either

D. Player character and enemy both leave the frame

"There are times when the player character and enemy aren't even on the screen."

recommendationid: 234268151 · Platform: not labeled — Steam's review API does not expose a platform field and the review text does not state one either

Three more reviews describe camera problems without matching one of the four types cleanly (234269507 · 234268768 · 234266690): "objectively terrible", "Terrible terrible camera", "Not even the camera functions properly." All four symptom types are backed by evidence — 4+8 recommendationids total, matching the 8/20 camera/lock-on count in Known Issues.

Has ProbablyMonsters Responded?

Official response status

Not found in the 9 archived Steam announcements; Zendesk returned 403 and remains unverified. That is not the same claim as "officials have not responded" — we simply have not been able to check the one channel (Zendesk Known Issues) that could settle it.

Which Platform?

Platform tagging

Every quoted report above is tagged not labeled. Steam's review API has no platform field, and inferring a platform from a passing mention of a control scheme is a guess, not a fact — we don't do that here.
