Crimson Moon PC Keybinding — Can You Rebind Keys?
Short answer as of 2026-09-02: no. Here's the official statement, what you can do meanwhile, and how we're tracking the fix.

Why This Matters
Why keybinding, specifically
Crimson Moon is a hack-and-slash action RPG that expects fast, precise inputs. Losing the ability to remap keys isn't a cosmetic complaint — in our frozen sample of 20 recent negative reviews, 5 of 20 report control-option problems, often tangled up with the 8 of 20 camera/lock-on reports (see Known Issues). This page exists to answer one question plainly and keep it current as the situation changes.
What Officials Said
The official statement, in full
"We've heard the frustration from our PC players around the lack of keybinding and remapping options, and we want to be clear: we're committed to getting a fix into your hands this week. Team Metal is already working on a rapid first implementation of keybinding support. Our priority is to get this functionality to PC players as quickly as possible, so this first version may have some bugs or areas that still need refinement. Rather than make you wait for a more polished implementation, we want to get the initial version out this week and address any issues that arise in a following patch. We'll share an exact date for the update as soon as we have it confirmed."— Team Metal, Steam announcement gid 1842846814438685, 2026-09-01
Two facts, both dated: the game shipped on 2026-09-01 without PC key rebinding, and the developer publicly committed to a fix "this week" — without an exact date. Both of those are direct quotes, not our summary.
What You Can Do Now
Your options until the patch lands
Steam's own category listing marks Crimson Moon as "Full controller support." That's the one alternative input path we can point to with a source. We have not completed a side-by-side comparison of keyboard-and-mouse versus controller for this game — we're not going to tell you a controller "feels better" without having tested that ourselves.

Where Others Got This Wrong
What the closest competitor page gets backwards
crimsonmoons.wiki/tools/controls/ (checked 2026-09-02, self-dated "Last updated: 2026-08-30") tells players: "Rebind before the prologue. The prologue still counts if you die, but it is a bad time to discover that Q is both 'use flask' and 'transform.'" That advice was written before launch and, on this one field, does not match what shipped — the game does not support rebinding at all right now. This check covers only that page's controls field; we have not reviewed the rest of that site.
